It’s no secret that browser games make up a large portion of the casual gaming market. They are fun, addictive and incredibly convenient to play. There’s no need to download or install anything, all you have to do is sign up for an account and begin your adventure. There are, literally, tons of browser games out there. I’ve picked out some of my absolute favorites – enjoy!
1. Battlestar Galactica Online
Battlestar Galactica Online is a browser MMO game based on the popular Battlestar Galactica TV series which came out in 2004. The game was released into open beta last year and quickly hit an impressive 2 million registered user milestone.
The game features impressive 3D graphics and is more of a fly simulator/action game than an RPG, even though you do get to pick your character, customize some stats and select a starting ship. In order to play Battlestar Galactica Online, users are required to download some game content before playing, but the actual game is played in the browser. Click here to sign up and start playing!
Imperion is a completely free, sci-fi space strategy game. The game has been in open beta testing for a long time and a full version was just launched a few months ago. Overall, Imperion has by far the best graphics of any space strategy/simulator that I have ever played.
The gameplay is tons of fun, too. You get to choose what kind of player you want to be (defensive or offensive), form alliances, mine, raid other players/planets and so on. There are no downloads required as the game runs 100% in the browser. Go here to try out Imperion.
3. Zombies Online
Zombies Online is a browser based action/RPG game. The game features very impressive graphics and tons of action, all of which is available directly in your browser (nothing to download). You can customize your character in any way you like. There are tons of quests to do, most of which can be done in co-op mode. You can sign up here.
As you can see, the games listed above are very different in style/gameplay, which was sort of my goal when writing this article. I have personally spent hundreds of hours playing each game and can almost guarantee that no matter which one of the three games above you pick, you are going to gave tons of fun!
